Why did the customer opt for
pad printing
and not any other process?
Tampon printing is the only printing process
that can achieve cost-effective 360° printing
of a hexagonal steel shaft. All other wellknown
processes (offset, flexographic or screen
printing, for example) simply cannot print
the hexagonal contour to the required quality
standard within a reasonable time. Airbrushing,
a technique which could also be used here,
is actually a lacquering technique and would
not be as cost-effective as pad printing for
mass-produced goods. The overspray method
used consumes enourmous quantities of ink
which cause environmental pollution.
Why did the customer opt for pad printing
from TAMPOPRINT®?
a) TAMPOPRINT® presented a sound, technically
mature concept. The problems involved
in printing very large quantities of tool bits
were taken into account in the early concept
phase.
b) TAMPOPRINT® had already built two automatic
printing systems for these products back
in the 1990s (Bauer, commercial printer for
Würth, Künzelsau and Würth International,
Bratislava / Slovakia).
There were two aspects of particular importance
to the customer:
a) consistently excellent print quality that reflects
the quality of its brand-name product
b) very high production capacity combined with
high system availability
TAMPOPRINT® has the track record to prove it
can fulfil these requirements.
Special feature:
■ Up to 51 different bit geometries can be printed
with minimum system changeover effort. In the
main, only the mould inserts need to be replaced
in the infeed for the different bit length of
25 mm, 50 mm, 70 mm, and 73 mm.
■ Introduction of a new marking system for
tool bits
■ The consumer / tradesperson can identify
the bit size they need much more easily
thanks to the colour-coded rings.
■ Higher product recognition (USP). |
